McMaster University is committed to ensuring that employees know that they are valued and that their efforts are appreciated. Recognition awards for employees include:

  • President’s Award for Outstanding Service - An annual recognition for employees or groups of employees who have made an outstanding contribution beyond that normally expected for their positions to the mission of the University through:
    • The provision of exceptional service to staff, faculty, students, alumni, donors or visitors;
    • The identification of measures which contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of University operations;
    • Contributions to the community or the University which enhance the reputation of McMaster.
  • Quarter Century Club Awards – McMaster recognizes that without each person’s contribution, the University would not be the world renowned institution that it is today. This award ceremony praises employees for their commitment and the importance of their role at the University over the past 25 years.
  • Years of Service Awards – Each year the University will recognize the total service of the following four groups of employees:
    • Fifteenth anniversary
    • Twentieth anniversary
    • Thirtieth anniversary
    • Thirty-fifth anniversary
