WHMIS Update Training Session

Overview

Developed jointly by labour, industry, federal, provincial and territorial governments.

A Canada-wide system designed to give employers and workers information about hazardous materials in the workplace.

In effect October 31, 1988.

Applies to hazardous materials known as controlled products: (Class A, B, C, D, E and F).

 

Learning Objectives

  • Provide information on hazardous materials used in the workplace
  • Facilitate the process of hazard identification in the workplace
  • Ensure consistency of hazard information in all Canadian workplaces
